Faunamenal is a TTRPG about anthropomorphic magical creatures called Fauna and their lighthearted adventures. Together they explore their world, solve problems they come across, and perform acts of kindness. The game focuses on themes of self-expression and being yourself.

It is combat optional, meaning that it is designed predominantly with nonviolent play in mind but does have rules for dealing with violent situations.

This game is designed with 4-6 players in mind, including a GM referred to as the World Soul.

Only a lot of six sided dice (d6), a method of recording things down, and a strong sense of curiosity and wonder are needed to play Faunamenal.

The pdf is 46 pages long, including 31 pages explaining how to play, 7 pages of advice for the World Soul, and 7 pages of useful examples.

Please note that the current version is the Game Jam version made for the Go Weave a Basket jam.

In the future, this game will have custom 100% human made art and a character sheet. The rules themselves are unlikely to be changed significantly, though more useful examples may be added.

Lots to love here just on a first skim, but I especially adore your three suggested Game Tones and the note that play might not stick to one of them all the time - more evocative and gameable than the average safety tool for sure!

Thank you! I'm quite proud of the Game Tones

When the initial Neopets TTRPG backlash happened I thought, oh everyone has a vastly different idea of what Neopets IS and the situation would look much differently if expectations were set better

Sounds like you thought about that longer than the team with $400,000 ever did. Well done!
